Arsenal went down to an unwelcome defeat in a behind closed doors friendly at home to Brentford on Wednesday afternoon, with the Gunners shipping three goals in the final 20 minutes to lose 3-2.

With Gunners boss Mikel Arteta seeking to get his players up to speed for the return of the Premier League season at Manchester City next Wednesday, the Spaniard was left disappointed by a defensive collapse that allowed the Championship promotion hopefuls to win the game.

Arteta used all of the players that he had at his disposal during the match, and his first half selection went 1-0 up shortly before half-time through a strike from Joe Willock.

Nicolas Pepe almost made it 2-0 before the break only to hit the post, before Arteta used the half-time interval to make five substitutions.
